Marion was born in AL.1 Marion's father was John Perry Dobson and his mother was Arsula Antinet McEwen. His paternal grandparents were Rainer B. Dobson and Harriet Ann Carlisle; his maternal grandparents were George Washington McEwen and Mary Catherine Sears. He had three brothers and two sisters, named R. B., George McEwen, Frank Perry, Norma and Myrtle.-
