Harriet was born about 1790 in Bertie Co., NC.1 Harriet's father was John Castellaw and her mother was Margaret Dawson. Her paternal grandparents were James, Sr. Castellaw and Sarah Williams. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Bartholomew, John Dawson, Henry Dawson, John William, Thomas Jefferson, Charlotte and Nancy W.. She was the youngest of the eight children. She had three half-brothers and five half-sisters, named William, John, James C., Elizabeth, Prudence, Martha, Sarah and Penelope. She died in ?.1 -
