Mary Ruth was born on July 9th, 1916 in Monroe, Ouchita Parish, LA.1 Mary Ruth's father was Evie Davis, Sr. Bridges and her mother was Emma Catherine Miller. Her paternal grandparents were Alvin Lafayette Bridges and Mary Virginia Wilson; her maternal grandparents were James Alexander Miller and Emma Jane McEwen. She had a brother and two sisters, named Evie Davis, Jr., Martha Mabel and Living. She died at the age of 74 on March 9th, 1991 in Montgomery, Montgomery Co., AL.1 General Notes

Mary Ruth was a tomboy. She liked to play with her brother as well as
other boys; shoots guns, and throw rocks.
In September of 1968 my Aunt Mary Ruth bought me two suitcases as a going
away to college gift. I remember her helping me to load the suitcases
into Daddy's car before he and I left for Jacksonville State University.
