James Baker

James was born about 1750 in Gates Co., North Carolina.¹   James' father was Zadock Baker and his mother was Ruth Wynns.  His paternal grandmother was Ruth Chancey. He had two brothers named Zadock W. and Matthew.  He was the second oldest of the three children.
