Richard , Jr Vance 
Richard , Jr was born in 1817 in KY.1 Richard , Jr's father was Richard Vance and his mother was Mary Ann Sims. His paternal grandparents were Abner , Sr. Vance and Susanna Howard; his maternal grandmother was Mary Ann Simms. He had seven brothers and a sister, named William, John Wesley, Abner, Meekin, Harlin, Paris L., Lewis G. and Mary "Polly". He was the fourth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 63 in 1880.1 
They had six sons and four daughters, named Lewis A., Francis B., Darby Kelly, William Riley, John Floyd, Martin W., Tabitha, Elizabeth, Mary Ann and Susannah.
