James Howard Vance 
James Howard was born on September 24th, 1826 in Russell Co.,Virginia. James Howard's father was William Harvey Vance and his mother was Nancy Burnsides. His paternal grandparents were Abner Vance and Susanna Howard; his maternal grandfather was John Burnsides?. He had two brothers and five sisters, named James Harvey, John, Lucinda, Rhoda Jane, Rinda, Sarah and Susan. He died at the age of 37 in February 1864 in Morgan County,Kentucky.-
