Joseph was born in 1691 in Evesham,Burlington,NJ. Joseph's father was Henry Ballinger and his mother was Mary Harding. His paternal grandfather was Aubrey Ballinger; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Harding and Eleanor Bagwell. He had a sister named Elizabeth.
