Matilda was born in London, Middlesex, England.  Matilda's father was King Henry I Beauclerc of England and her mother was Matilda Edith Queen of England and of Scotland. She had two brothers and two sisters, named William, Richard, Elizabeth and Euphamia. She had fifteen half-brothers and nineteen half-sisters, named Robert, William, William, Rainald, Gilbert, Robert, Henry, Robert, Henry, Robert, Robert, Gilbert, Richard, Fulk, Richard, Sibyl Elizabeth, Gundred, Rohese, Matilda (Maud), Eustacie, Alice, Daughter, Isabel, Isabel, Maud, Princess, Maud, Emma, Maud, Juliane, Constance, Juliane, Mathilde and Alix.  She died on September 10th, 1167 in Rouen (Notre Dame), Seine-Maritime, France.  She was buried in Le Bec-Hellouin, Eure, France, Bec Abbey.
