Anna was born in 1066 in Normandie, France.  Anna's father was William I "The Conqueror" King of England de Normandie and her mother was Princess/Queen of England Mathilde de Flandres. She had four brothers and seven sisters, named Robert II, Richard, William II "Rufus", Henry I Beauclerc, Gundrade, Adelisa, Cecilia, Constance, Adela, Agatha Matilda and Margaret.  She was the third youngest of the twelve children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named William I and Gundrid.
