Richard "Strongbow" Fitzgilbert was born about 1125 in Tunbridge, Kent, England.  Richard "Strongbow" Fitzgilbert's father was Gilbert "Strongbow" de Clare and his mother was Isabel (Elizabeth) de Beaumont.  His paternal grandparents were Gilbert FitzRichard de Clare , 2nd Earl and Adelaid\Adeliza de Clermont; his maternal grandparents were Robert de Beaumont Count of Robert , Earl of Leicester/Meula and Isabel (Elizabeth) Isabelle , Countess/de Vermandois. He had a brother and two sisters, named Baldwin, Agnes and Basilia.  He was the youngest of the four children.  He died on April 20th, 1176 in Dublin, Leinster, Ireland.  He was buried in Gloucester, Gloucester, Egnland.
