Haran ben Terah ben Nahor 
Haran ben was born in 1954 BC in Ur, Land of the Chaldeans. Haran ben's father was King Terah (Terach) (Terih) of Agade ben Nahor ben Serug. His paternal grandfather was King Nahor I (Nachor) ben Serug ben Reu. He had four brothers and a sister, named Nahor (Nachor) ben, Associates of King, Abram (Abraham) (Avraham ) (Ibrahim) ben, Zoba ben and Associates of. Abraham's youngest brother and Terah's son, he was the father of Lot whoaccompanied Abraham f rom Ur to Canaan. (Everyone in the Bible, byWilliam P. Barker, 1966) He died young, in the land where he was born, and was survived by hisfather. Haran was the youngest of his father's son. He was born at Ur, and diedthere at a young age . To his father, Terah, is attributed the foundingof the city of Haran, Terah naming the pla ce in his son's memory andhonour. The city lay on the main highway to Ninevah from Carcemish , andit is interesting to note that the Assyrian noun for main-road washarranu. From its ear liest days, the city was one of the chief centresof moon-worship and we frequently read of it s temple being restored andembellished by successive kings of Assyria. Its temple was, indee d everybit as famous and well-subscribed as that at Ur (where the familyoriginated).
