Mathilda of was born about 0890 in Ringleheim, Goslar, Hannover, Germany.  Mathilda of's father was Theodoric I Count of Ringleheim and her mother was Ludmilla Ragnhildis.  Her paternal grandparents were Reginhart I Count of Ringleheim and Matilda; her maternal grandparents were Gottfried and Matilda. She had two sisters named Amalrada and Luitgard.  She was the second oldest of the three children.  She died in Membleben, Saxony, Germany.
