Joan was born on July 22nd, 1210 in Gloucester, Gloucestershire, England.  Joan's father was John I "Lackland" Plantagenet King of England and her mother was Isabella Taillefer de Angouleme.  Her paternal grandfather was Henry II "Curt Mantel" King of England; her maternal grandparents were Aymer (Adhemar) Taillefer de Angouleme and Alice de Courtenay. She had two brothers and a sister, named Henry III Plantagenet King of, Richard and Eleanor. She had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Richard, Hugh XI de, William de, Joan and Alice de.  She died in Havering-atte-Bower, Essex, England.
