Matilde was born in 0943. Matilde's father was King Louis IV "Transmarinus" OF FRANCE and her mother was Princess/ Gerberge OF GERMANY. Her paternal grandmother was Princess Ogive OF ENGLAND; her maternal grandparents were King Henry I OF THE GERMANS Heinrick "The Fowler" and Saint Matilda OF RINGLEHEIM. She had a brother named Charles of Upper Lorraine. She was the older of the two children. She had two half-sisters named Gerberge and Alberade.General Notes
Credited with the first unification of the country, convertedthe Danes to Christianity, and conquered Norway. After hisBaptism his fathers pagan tomb was transformed into a Christianplace of worship.
Introduced Christianity into Denmark, he had the famous Jellingrune stone erected in his parent memory. He was fatally woundedduring a rebellion by his son and successor, Sveng I.
‌Matilde and Conrad III were married in a religious ceremony in 0964. They had three daughters named Mathilda, Gerberga and Bertha.
