Matilda was born in 1031.  Matilda's father was Count Baldwin V OF FLANDERS and her mother was Princess Adela Of France CARPET.  Her paternal grandparents were Count Baldwin IV "Fair Beard" OF FLANDERS and Otgive DE LUXEMBOURG; her maternal grandparents were King Robert II "The Pious" Of France CAPET and Queen Constance Of France OF ARLES. She had two brothers named Baldwin VI "The Peaceable" And Artois and Robert IV "Le Frison".  She was the oldest of the three children.  She died at the age of 52 in 1083.

‌Matilda and William I The Conqueror "The Bastard" Duke of Normandy were married in a religious ceremony in 1053 in Cathedral Of Notre Dame.  They had a son and four daughters, named Henry I "Beauclerc" "The Good Scholar", Adela Of England, Gundred, Alveva and Maud Margaret.
