Robert I "The Magnificent" Duke of was born about 0999 in Rouen, Seine-Inferieure, Normandy, France.  Robert I "The Magnificent" Duke of's father was Richard II "The Good" Duke of Normandy and his mother was Judith of Brittany.  His paternal grandparents were Richard I "The Fearless" Duke of Normandy and Gunnora (Gundra) de Crepon; his maternal grandparents were Conan I Duke of Brittany , Comte de Rennes and Ermengarde d' Anjou.  He was an only child.  He died on July 2nd, 1035 in Nicaea, Bithynia, Turkey (on pilgrimage to Jerusalem).
