Charles I Count of Anjou King of Sicily & was born in 1220 in Anjou, France.  Charles I Count of Anjou King of Sicily &'s father was Louis VIII "The Lion" King of France and his mother was Blanche Princess of Castile.  His paternal grandparents were Philip II "Philip Augustus" King of France and Isabella of Hainault; his maternal grandparents were Alfonso VIII Sanchez "The Good" King of Castile and Eleanor Princess of England. He had two brothers named Louis IX "St. Louis" King of and Robert I Count of.  He was the youngest of the three children.  He died at the age of 65 in 1285 in Naples, Italy.
