Robert de was born in 1040 in Normandy, France.  Robert de's father was Harlevin Viscount de Conteville and his mother was Arlette Herleve de Falaise.  His paternal grandparents were Jean de Conteville , Viscount of Comyn and JEAN; his maternal grandparents were FULBERT DE FALAISE CHAMBERLAIN and DODA FALAISE. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Odo Bishop of, Odo DE, Andre, EMMA DE, Emma de, MATHILDA DE and MURIEL DE. He had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Ralph Count of, William I "The Conqueror" King of, Baldwin Fitz-Gilbert of, Adelaide of, Godiva de and FELCIA.  He died at the age of 50 on December 8th, 1090 in France.  He was buried in Fought at Battle of Hastings.
