Joan de was born about 1257 in Wilton Castle, Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, England.  Joan de's father was Reynold 1st Baron de Grey , of Wilton, Sir and her mother was Maud de Longchamp , Heiress of Wilton.  Her paternal grandparents were John de Grey , of Shirland, Sir and Emma de Cauz; her maternal grandparents were Henry de Longchamp , of Wilton, Sir and Joan. She had a brother named John 2nd Baron de.  She was the older of the two children.  She died before 1285.

‌Joan de and Edmund 1st Baron de were married in a religious ceremony in 1st wife.  They had a daughter named Isolde (Iseude) de.
