Isabel was born about 1225 in Chilham Castle, Kent, England.  Isabel's father was Richard FitzRoy , Baron of Chilham and her mother was Rose de Douvers , Heiress of Chilham.  Her paternal grandparents were John I "Lackland" Plantagenet King of England and Suzanne Plantagenet de Warenne; her maternal grandparents were Foubert de Douvres , Baron of Chilham and Isabel de Briwere. She had a brother and two sisters, named Richard de, Margaret and Lorette de.  She was the second youngest of the four children.  She died on July 7th, 1276 in Berkeley Castle, Thornbury, Gloucestershire, England.  She was buried in St Augustine's Priory, Bristol, Gloucestershire, England.


Isabel's family with Maurice I "The Resolute" de Berkeley , Sir

‌Isabel and Maurice I "The Resolute" de were married in a religious ceremony before July 12th, 1247.  They had a son and a daughter, named Thomas II "The Wise" 1st Baron de and Alice.
