William II "Rufus" King of was born about 1056 in Normandy, France.  William II "Rufus" King of's father was William I "The Conqueror" King of England and his mother was Matilda (Maud) of Flanders.  His paternal grandparents were Robert I "The Magnificent" Duke of Normandy and Herleve (Arlette) de Falaise; his maternal grandparents were Baudouin V Count of Flanders and Adele (Aelis) Princess of France. He had two brothers and a sister, named Robert II "Curthose" Duke of, Henry I "Beauclerc" King of and Adela of.  He was the second oldest of the four children. He had a half-sister named Gundred of.  He died on August 2nd, 1100 in New Forest, near Lyndhurst, Hampshire, England.  He was buried in Winchester, Hampshire, England.
