Alice of was born about 1114 in Selby, Yorkshire, England.  Alice of's father was Henry I "Beauclerc" King of England and her mother was Isabel Elizabeth de Beaumont.  Her maternal grandparents were Robert I de Beaumont , 1st Earl of Leicester and Isabel Elizabeth de Vermandois. She had a sister named Constance. She had six half-brothers and six half-sisters, named Henry, Reynold de, Robert de, William de, Robert, Richard Strongbow de, Maud of, Maud "The Empress" Princess of, Sibylla, Mabel (Eustacia), Elizabeth of and Matilda of.  She died in 1141 in Montmorency, Val d'Oise, Ile-de-France, France.
