Louis I "The Pious" Holy Roman was born in August 0778 in Chasseneuil, Lot-et-Garonne near Poitiers, Aquitaine, France.  Louis I "The Pious" Holy Roman's father was Charlemagne I Holy Roman Emperor and his mother was Hildegard of Swabia.  His paternal grandparents were Pepin III "The Short" King of Franks and Berthe of Laon.
