Lady Matilda was born about 1335 in Carleton, East Riding, Yorkshire, England.  Lady Matilda's father was Sir Ralph De Neville , 2nd Baron of Raby and her mother was Alice De Audley.  Her paternal grandparents were Ralph de Neville , 1st Lord Neville of Raby and Anastasia FitzRobert de Clavering; her maternal grandparents were Lord Hugh De Audley and Isolde \ Iseude \ Iswolde De Mortimer. She had six brothers and six sisters, named Sir John, Ralph, Thomas, Robert, William, Alexander, Catherine, Eupheme, Eleanor, Margaret, Elizabeth and Isabel.  She was the fifth oldest of the thirteen children. She had a half-brother named William.  She died in 1438 in England.
