Luitgarde was born in 0954. Luitgarde's father was Count/Count Raymond III Pons OF TOULOUSE and her mother was Garsinde OF PROVENCE. Her paternal grandparents were Count/Count Raymond II OF TOULOUSE and Gunhilde OF BESALU; her maternal grandparents were Count Charles Of Vienne CONSTANTINE and Teutberge OF TROYES. She had a brother and a sister, named William III and Adelaide. She died at the age of 44 in 0998.General Notes
Credited with the first unification of the country, convertedthe Danes to Christianity, and conquered Norway. After hisBaptism his fathers pagan tomb was transformed into a Christianplace of worship.
Introduced Christianity into Denmark, he had the famous Jellingrune stone erected in his parent memory. He was fatally woundedduring a rebellion by his son and successor, Sveng I.
