Adelaide's father was Count/Count Raymond III Pons OF TOULOUSE and her mother was Garsinde OF PROVENCE. Her paternal grandparents were Count/Count Raymond II OF TOULOUSE and Gunhilde OF BESALU; her maternal grandparents were Count Charles Of Vienne CONSTANTINE and Teutberge OF TROYES. She had a brother and a sister, named William III and Luitgarde.General Notes
Credited with the first unification of the country, convertedthe Danes to Christianity, and conquered Norway. After hisBaptism his fathers pagan tomb was transformed into a Christianplace of worship.
Introduced Christianity into Denmark, he had the famous Jellingrune stone erected in his parent memory. He was fatally woundedduring a rebellion by his son and successor, Sveng I.
