Alice de was born about 1170 in Courtenay, Gatinais, Isle-de-France, France.  Alice de's father was Peter I Count de Courtenay , Prince of France and her mother was Elizabeth de Courtenay.  Her paternal grandparents were Louis VI "The Fat" King of France and Adelaide of Savoy; her maternal grandparents were Renaud I Sire de Courtenay and Hedwige du Donjon. She had two brothers named Peter II Count de and Robert de.  She was the youngest of the three children.  She died on September 14th, 1205 in France.
