Robert de Mortaigne Earl of was born in 1040 in Normandy, France.  Robert de Mortaigne Earl of's father was Herluin de Conteville Viscount Conteville and his mother was Herleva De Falaise.  His paternal grandfather was John de Bourg de Tonsburgh Earl of Comyn; his maternal grandparents were Fulbert the Tanner Fulbert de Falaise and Duxia Duxia de Falaise. He had three sisters named Emma, Oda (Eudes) and Muriel.  He was the youngest of the four children. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Baldwin Fitz-Gilbert of, Ralph Count of, William I "The Conqueror" King of and Adelaide Countess of.  He died at the age of 50 on December 8th, 1090 in France.
