Miss de was born in 1042 in Conteville, Eure, Normandy, France.  Miss de's father was Harlevin (Herlouin) Vicomte de Conteville and her mother was Herleve (Arlette) de Falaise.  Her paternal grandfather was Jean de Conteville , Vicomte de Comyn; her maternal grandparents were Fulbert de Falaise and Doda. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Robert de, Odo Bishop of, Emma de and Muriel de.  She was the youngest of the five children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named William I "The Conqueror" King of and Adelaide of.

‌Miss de and William I Comte de were married in a religious ceremony in 1058.  They had two sons named Mathieu Seigneur de and Hamon I Baron de.
