Isabel de was born about 1140 in Thorngate Castle, Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England.  Isabel de's father was Robert de Condet , Lord of Thorngate and her mother was Adeliza Alice le Meschin.  Her paternal grandparents were Osbert de Condet , Lord of Wickhambreux and Adelaide de Chesney; her maternal grandparents were Ranulph le Meschin , 3rd Earl of Chester and Lucy (Lucia) of Mercia. She had a brother named Roger de.  She was the younger of the two children. She had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Roger de, Adeliza de, Rohese de and Adles.

‌Isabel de and Hugh were married in a religious ceremony about 1168 in Thurrick, Essex, England.  They had two daughters named Juliana and Isolda.
