Constance of was born in 1144 in Castile, Spain.  Constance of's father was Alfonso VII "The Emperor" King of Leon & Castile and her mother was Berenguela of Barcelona.  Her paternal grandparents were Raymond of Burgundy , Count of Castile and Urraca Princess of Leon & Castile; her maternal grandparents were Ramon Berenguer III Count of Barcelona and Dulce Aldonza of Milhaud. She had two brothers and a sister, named Sancho III "The Desired" King of, Ferdinand II Alfonsez King of and Sancha Infanta of.  She was the youngest of the four children. She had a half-sister named Sancha of.  She died at the age of 16 on October 4th, 1160 in (in child birth).  She was buried in St Denis, Paris, Ile-de-France, France.
