Mary was born about 1084 in Scotland.  Mary's father was Malcolm III King of Scotland and her mother was Saint Margaret Atheling of England.  Her paternal grandparents were Duncan I MacCrinan King of Scotland and Aelflaed Sybilla FitzSiward of Northumbria; her maternal grandparents were Edward Atheling "The Exile" King of England and Agatha Princess of Hungary. She had three brothers and a sister, named Heth Ethelred 1st Earl Of, Alexander I "The Fierce" King Of, David I "The Saint" King of and Matilda Atheling Edith Canmore of. She had a half-brother named Duncan II King Of.  She died on May 31st, 1116 in St. Savior's Monastery, Bermonsey, Middlesex, England.
