Robert de was born about 1090 in Caen, Calvados, Normandy, France.  Robert de's father was Henry I "Beauclerc" King of England and his mother was Several Mistresses.  His paternal grandparents were William I "The Conqueror" King of England and Matilda (Maud) of Flanders. He had a brother and three sisters, named William de, Mabel (Eustacia), Elizabeth of and Alice of. He had three half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Henry, Reynold de, Robert, Maud of, Maud "The Empress" Princess of, Sibylla, Constance and Matilda of.  He died on October 31st, 1147 in Bristol, Gloucestershire, England.  He was buried in Priory of St. James, Bristol, Gloucestershire, England.
