Eventually King John, in the last year of his reign, his wrath being then assuaged, granted part of those [confiscated] lands to Reginald, which grant was confirmed by King Henry III, and he had livery of the castle and honour of Totness, with the honour of Barnstaple, having had previous possession of other estates. He m. Goùcia, dau. of William de Bruere, and dying in 1221, was s. by his son, William de Braose.
