Richard d' Avranches , 2nd Earl of Chester 
Richard d' was born about 1094 in Chester, Cheshire, England. Richard d''s father was Hugh "Lupus" d' Avranches , 1st Earl of Chester and his mother was Ermentrude de Clermont. His paternal grandparents were Richard le Goz Viscount d' Avranches and Emma de Conteville; his maternal grandparents were Hugh de Creil Count of Clermont and Margaret de Roucy. He had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Robert I, Maud d', Helga de and Geva d'. He died on November 25th, 1120 in Sinking of the White Ship (Blanche Nef) (dsp legit).General Notes

RICHARD) EARL OF CHESTER, also VICOMTE D'AVRANCHFS &C., in Normandy, only son and heir, aged 7 years at his father's death. He married, in 1115, Maud, daughter of Stephen, COUNT OF BLOIS, by Adelaide, daughter of WILLIAM 1. He died s.p. legit., 25 November 1120, being drowned, together his wife, her cousin William (the only son and heir apparent of the King), and a vast number of the nobility, by the shipwreck of the "Blanche Nef," off Barfleur.
