Alice de was born about 1300 in Stratton Audley, Oxfordshire, England.  Alice de's father was Hugh 1st Baron de Audley , of Stratton, Sir and her mother was Isolde (Iseude) de Mortimer.  Her paternal grandparents were James de Audley , of Heleigh, Sheriff of Salop and Ela Longespee; her maternal grandparents were Edmund 1st Baron de Mortimer , 7th Lord Wigmore and Joan de Grey. She had two brothers named Hugh Baron de and James de.  She was the youngest of the three children.
