Simon d' was born in 1144 in Arundel, Sussex, England. Simon d''s father was William "Strong Hand" d' Aubigny , Earl Arundel and his mother was Adeliza Adela of Louvain. His paternal grandparents were William Pincerna d' Aubigny , Butler to Henry I and Maud Bigod; his maternal grandparents were Godfrey Count of Louvain , Duke of Brabant and Ida de Chiny & Namur. He had a brother and three sisters, named William d', Alice d', Cecily de and Matilda d'. He was the youngest of the five children. He died at the age of 62 in 1206.-
