Eliza Jane was born in 1833 in Carrollton, Carroll Co., Kentucky. Eliza Jane's father was Wesley Poythress Masterson and her mother was Catherine C. Abbett. Her paternal grandparents were Richard Masterson and Sarah Shore; her maternal grandparents were Dennis Abbett and Mary ?. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Richard, Dennis, Thomas Peniston, Jesse Holman, Mary C. and Sarah Eleanor. She was the second youngest of the seven children. She died in 1833 in Carrollton, Carroll Co., Kentucky. She was buried in Carrollton, Carroll Co., Kentucky.-
