James Chitwood 
James was born on June 21st, 1751 in Cumberland Co., Virginia. James' father was Richard Chitwood and his mother was Winney Randolph. His paternal grandparents were Matthias Chitwood and May Key. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Daniel, Richard, Seth, John, Isabella Elizabeth, Mary Ann and Catherine. He was the third oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 88 in 1839 in Campbell Co., Tennessee.
James and Martha were married in a religious ceremony in 1767 in Scott Co., Tennessee. They had four sons and two daughters, named Pleasant, Lazarus, William, Daniel, Winnie and Elizabeth.

Pleasant was born on May 9th, 1775 in North Carolina. He died at the age of 75 on March 14th, 1851 in Scott Co., Tennessee.
