Milly Jane was born on December 17th, 1852 in Pleasants County,WV. Milly Jane's father was Jacob Swisher and her mother was Elizabeth Jane Fluharty. Her paternal grandparents were Jacob Swisher and Drusilla Morgan; her maternal grandparents were Henry Fluharty and Sarah Eddy. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Archibald J., Henry, James H., Jacob S., Elzy, Sally, Annie, Elizabeth Jane and Amanda. She was the oldest of the ten children.-
