Reynolds and Rutha Chapman; her maternal grandparents were John Carpenter Dailey and Sarah Watson. She had three brothers and six sisters, named James Lacy, Grover, Marshall, Mary Magdaline, Jemima "Chubb", Sarah Ann, Lucy Ruthie Virginia, Carrie Violette and Elsie Mae.-
