Henry was born in 1070 in Selby.  Henry's father was William I "The Conquerer" and his mother was Matilda of Flanders.  His paternal grandparents were II Robert and Arlette Fulbert; his maternal grandparents were V Baldwin Countof Flanders and Adela. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named Robert II, Richard, William II, Adela Of, Constance, Adela, Cecelia, Agatha, Matilda and Adeliza. He had two half-brothers named I and Henry.  He died at the age of 65 on December 1st, 1135 in St. Denis-le Fermont.

‌Henry and Matilda of were married in a religious ceremony on November 11th, 1100 in Westminster Abbey.  They had a son and two daughters, named William Beauclerc "The, Matilda and Euphamia.
