Isabel was born about 1836 in Georgia.  Isabel's father was Algernon Sidney Robbins and her mother was Nancy Elizabeth Turner.  Her paternal grandparents were Pliny Robbins and Isabella R Paxton; her maternal grandfather was James Turner. She had five brothers and five sisters, named James Wiley, Algernon Sidney, Joseph Pliny, John Wesley, Robert P, Elizabeth Ann, Cynthia E, Sophia S, Lousia C and Drucilla C.  She was the third oldest of the eleven children.
