John Calvert McCallen 
John Calvert was born on March 17th, 1837 in Graves Co,Kentucky. John Calvert's father was James Bowman McCallen and his mother was Lucinda Thompson. His maternal grandfather was UNKNOWN Thompson. He was an only child. He died at the age of 36 in 1873 in Charleston,Missouri. He was buried in Masonic Graveyard,Charleston,Missouri.General Notes

BIOGRAPHY: His Uncle and namesake, John Calvert Thompson (younger brother of his Mother, Lucinda Thompson), a prosperous businessman, sent John Calvert McAllen to school in Princeton, New Jersey.
BIOGRAPHY: J.C. McAllen afterwards went to work for J.C. Thompson as his bookeeper in New York.
BIOGRAPHY: J.C. McAllen traveled to California in June, 1858 via Aspenwall? and Panama, arriving San Francisco on the steamer "Golden Age".
BIOGRAPHY: Purchased a dairy ranch in Stony Point, Sonoma Co, California.
BIOGRAPHY: Sent for Emeline Eliza Nichols in Oct, 1859. She arrived Oct 16, 1859 on the steamer "Golden Age".
BIOGRAPHY: They were then married at the Sansome? House by Reverend W.A.Scott of San Francisco.
BIOGRAPHY: Annie Emeline MaCallen born on the Sonoma Co ranch, 21 Oct, 1861.
BIOGRAPHY: J.A. McAllen joined the Union Army in 1862, and Emeline Eliza with infant Annie Emeline, took the steamer to New York 21 Nov, 1862.
BIOGRAPHY: J.A. Mcallen died in the spring of 1873.
