‌David Washington and Millie Jane were married in a religious ceremony on July 2nd, 1894.  They had five sons and six daughters, and also a child of unknown gender, named Bartley, Earl, Edgar, Harmon, J. C., Bertha, Blanch, Constance, Emma, Geneva, Lilie Rosabell and Ossie.
