James A. Blessing 
James A. was born in 1843 in Washington County, Virginia. James A.'s father was Solomon Blessing and his mother was Mary Anderson. His paternal grandparents were Jacob Blessing and Elizabeth Messersmith. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Samuel, John A., Jacob Rector, George Washington, Elizabeth, Catherine E., Sarah and Ann E.. He was the fourth youngest of the nine children. He had two half-sisters named Mary and Armetta.-
