Katherine was born about 1431 in Northamptonshire, England. Katherine's father was Thomas Billing and her mother was Catherine Giffard. Her paternal grandfather was John Billing; her maternal grandparents were Roger Giffard and Elizabeth Seyton. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, John, Roger, William, Nicholas, Isabel, Margaret and Billings. She was the fourth youngest of the nine children.-
