Andrew King was born on December 31st, 1833 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. Andrew King's father was Jacob Beal and his mother was Sarah King. His paternal grandparents were John Beal and Eve Or Elizabeth Eberhardt; his maternal grandparents were Andrew J. King and Barbara Bowyer. He had three brothers and eleven sisters, named Franklin, John, George King, Mary Ann, Nancy, Catherine, Sidney, Sarah, Abigail, Susan, Lucy, Matilda, Alcy and Narcissa. He was the seventh youngest of the fifteen children.-
