George Clinton Akard 
George Clinton was born in 1881 in Sullivan, Tennessee. George Clinton's father was Eldridge Decatur Akard and his mother was Lydia Gunning Spurgeon. His paternal grandparents were James Akard and Eliza Carlton; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Craft Spurgeon and Lydia James Gunning. He had a sister named Fannie. He was the younger of the two children. He died at the age of 56 in 1937.-
