Narrative
Late U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Virginia; was president
of the State Court of Appeals, brother of U.S. Senator John Lewis and of
Mary Botts, No. 1860 in Va Cousins or the Goode Pedigree, and a
descendant in the sixth generation of John Lewis and his wife Margaret
Lynn, daughter of the Laird of Loch Lynn, who settled in Augusta Co., Va
about 1727. (See Peyton's History of Augusta County) She died about 1810,
leaving daughter and son.
